Welcome back guys! The blog is back, completely revamped and ready for me to spend 2017 keeping you guys up to date with the ramblings of my little mind. I know we’re half way into January (once again, where has the time gone!?) but I’ve been thinking a lot throughout the start of this month about what I’d like to achieve this year. I’m not one for making resolutions, because I think it’s silly to kick yourself when you feel like you’ve failed. Just because you still have one cheeky cigarette a day or didn’t manage to stick out dry January doesn’t make you a bad person, OKAY!? This all being said, there are a few things I’d like to achieve this year and, yes, some of them are going to be totally cliche but ON WE GO…
SAVE SAVE SAVE – I think we all know by now that all I want to do is go to Walt Disney World. It’s my dream holiday and it is now finally looking like a reality. Hopefully around this time next year we will be there. I have a few other things to pay off before I can start to properly fill the money tin, but this is something that I am so determined to do! Here’s to not spending a heap of my wages on clothes that I don’t need, CHEERS!
Read more – Okay so yeeeesssss I do say this every year, but I’ve recently been re-reading the Harry Potter series, which are my all time faves, and just basically having the best time. I also bought two biographical books after Christmas which I’m super excited to read, I watch too much TV and I just wish I read as much as my mother. Plus it keeps your brain much more activate and engaged than constantly pointlessly scrolling through social media.
Cook – When I say this I don’t just mean chucking a few quorn nuggets and curly fries in the oven. When Chris and I moved in we were given a few cookbooks as gifts and I am yet to use any of them. Fearne Cotton’s book has some wonderful recipes I’d love to try and I’m a huge fan of Jamie’s books, of which I own a few. I just don’t want to be so lazy, I will usually always go for the quick option, frozen chips instead of making my own wedges, which let’s face it, isn’t exactly a huge struggle. PULL YOUR FINGER OUT JORD.
Get the house sorted – We moved in late August and I still have things sitting around in bags and boxes that I brought from my mum’s that need sorting out. I’m sitting writing this looking around at the ones that are in the back of the living room…oops. I would also like to try and keep on top of house work (yaaaaawn) better than I currently do. I mean, how often DO other people actually clean their oven? Not that my house is dirty, I just have a habit of not emptying the dishwasher until about 12 hours after it’s finished it’s cycle.
Organisation – I guess this is similar to the previous goal, but I am already doing pretty well this year as I’ve got a gorgeous Disney calendar on the fridge which I’ve been writing important upcoming events on. I’ve also got myself a cute little diary from Paperchase (it says “today do something for you” on the front – MOTIVATION) which I’ve been making sure I write everything down in, including my work shifts, as I find it’s quite hard to have any type of a routine when you’re not a Monday-Friday 9-5’er.
So they’re my little goals for this year. I am ALL ABOUT having time off, needing down time and generally just not getting yourself worked up about the things you haven’t done. That being said, I’m way too relaxed sometimes and I procrastinate massively and just let things run away from me. SO, I may revisit this at the end of the year and see what I’ve actually managed to achieve from my 2017.
Let me know in the comments if you’ve set any goals which you’re aiming to smash this year and keep me posted on how you’re getting on! Xxx
