Hello my lovelies! As a huge lover of TV I always like to share and discuss what I’ve been watching recently. Some of these things are still on and I’m desperately waiting for new episodes and some I’ve totally binged, but this is what I’ve been loving in the last few weeks;
Broadchurch – As you probably know if you’re a drama lover like me, Broadchurch started back on our screens a few weeks back. I only watched the first two series’ fairly recently as I’d seen so much chatter about them and oh my gosh, I was hooked! I actually enjoyed the second series more than the first, I think partly because I really wanted to know the deal with Gwen from Torchwood, she was great in it. I actually haven’t been enjoying this new series as much, however the casting has once again been spot on and I’m looking forward to seeing where it goes.
Riverdale – Riverdale has been one of those things that is super cheesy but I’m loving it either because of that or in spite of that, who knows!? I didn’t actually realise until a couple of episodes in that it’s based on the Archie comics, as the extent of my knowledge on them comes from that throwback episode of Friends. I’m such a sucker for high school teen drama because I still think I’m 17. The characters in this show are great and I was beyond excited when I realised Newsies actor Corey Cott’s brother is in it (he’s Kevin)! Any theories for what happened to Jason!? Let’s discuss.
The Replacement – I’m sorry if you haven’t watched The Replacement and you’re planning to, but this was absolutely brilliant up until the last half an hour when the script writer apparently walked out and their child had to take over… I was really enjoying it and so excited to see where it went, but a lot of things weren’t even wrapped up properly and I felt massively let down as the last episode finished. It’s only three one hour long episodes so I would recommend it, just be prepared that the ending won’t provide you as much closure as you’d hoped.
Made in Chelsea – Yaassss MiC is finally back! I’ve been so excited about this, mainly because I wanted to find out everyone’s reactions to Binky’s pregnancy. I’m not actually a huge fan of reality TV, this is the only thing I watch really, but I was drawn into it a few years back and ended up going back and watching it all from the start. It’s my guilty pleasure. Plus, dra-maaaaaah.
Clique – I’m still gutted about the fact that BBC3 is no longer a proper TV channel. However they are still making some really cool TV and it’s always available on iPlayer. I was stuck in a rut the other week for something to watch and this kept popping up in the most popular section. I really wanted a new drama and so I popped this on. I didn’t have massively high hopes as I wasn’t sold simply from the description but honestly this is go great! It’s about two students at Edinburgh Uni, they’re best friends and the show explores their changing relationship, new relationships and their struggle to become business women in a world seemingly dominated by men. The cast are incredible and it’s got better and better with each episode. I’m not actually sure how many there are, but there have been three so far and I’m super intrigued to know where it’s going to go as there are a lot of twists and turns and things to be uncovered.
Love – The super quirky Judd Apatow series is back. YAY! Chris really can’t get on board with this show, so I’ve been watching it whilst he’s at work. It’s a Netflix original and I was drawn into the first season as the lead, Mickey is played by Gillian Jacobs who is Britta in Community and I love her. It’s so funny and really explores how awkward falling in love with someone can actually be. It’s one of those shows with SO MANY cultural references which I always love and the supporting characters are the sort to make you go “hey, I know a Randy”!
What have you guys been loving recently? Any recommendations of shows you think I’ll love? Let me know in the comments.
